Dharamshala: The Education Council, Department of Education (CTA) member, Nyima Dhondup, former Principal of Palkhang Academy, successfully concluded an inspection tour of Tibetan schools around Dehradun on 27 July 2024.
The Committee member, Nyima Dhondup, undertook a series of visits to various Tibetan schools and institutions. The visits commenced with TCV Selakui on 15 July, followed by the Tibetan Private Industrial Training Institute in Selakui on 16 July 2024. Subsequently, the schedule encompassed visits to Herbertpur Sambhota Tibetan School on 17 July and the Tibetan Homes School in Dekyiling on 18 July. This was succeeded by visits to Tibetan Homes School in Mussoorie from 20 to 22 July, Mussoorie Sambhota Tibetan School on 23 July, Tibetan Homes School in Ghorimafi on 26 July, and concluded with a visit to the Tibetan Homes School in Rajpur on 27 July 2024.
During the inspections, the Education Council Committee member thoroughly inspected the school’s libraries, classrooms, science laboratories, hostels, and dining halls. The assessment includes an evaluation of the school’s compliance with the education policy of the Central Tibetan Administration. Additionally, oversight was provided on the delivery of teachings in classes, particularly the Secular Ethics (SEE-Learning) classes. Furthermore, the inspection encompassed an evaluation of the schools’ utilisation of the textbooks provided by the Department of Education.
