Dholanji: The 11th Local Tibetan Assembly of the Tibetan settlement in Bonshi, Dholanji, was sworn in on 16 July 2024 after the election of 10 new members out of 11 members which included the chair, Loden Nyima, and vice-chair, Drenpa Tsewang.
The local Justice Commissioner of the Northern region, Choekyi, officiated the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected members.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Local Justice Commissioner Choekyi conducted a legal awareness campaign in the afternoon at the community hall of the Dolanji Bonshi Tibetan settlement. The campaign was attended by 70 individuals, comprising community members and students from classes 9 to 12 of Sambhota Tibetan School, Dholanji accompanied by their teachers. The session encompassed an elucidation of the evolution and structure of the exile Tibetan democratic polity.
Additionally, the Local Justice Commissioner imparted knowledge regarding the Tibetan Justice Commission’s judiciary code and its organisation and jurisdiction to the attendees.
