Varanasi: On the afternoon of 17 July, a modest celebration took place at the Shedrup Dhogu Kyil Tibetan monastery in Sarnath to mark the recent enactment of the Resolve Tibet Act by the U.S. government. The Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association, and the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress organised the event. Among the attendees was Jampa Samten, a history professor at the University of Varanasi, who discussed this act’s legislative process, significance, and prospective implications.
