Australia: The Sydney Tibetan Association celebrated the enactment of the Resolve Tibet Act. On 12 July 2024, President Joe Biden signed the act into law. This legislation has received broad support from the Tibetan community, individuals, and organisations, including the Central Tibetan Administration.
The following day, on 13 July, the Sydney Tibetan Association hosted a gathering to mark this occasion. Ngawa Choezin, chairman of the association, highlighted the Act’s significance and historic importance. He emphasised that the event was an expression of gratitude towards the U.S. government for passing this crucial law, which reflects the compassionate guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Choezin also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the Central Tibetan Administration and numerous supporters of the Tibetan cause, extending thanks to all involved.
