
Bylakuppe: The Organic Research and Training Center (ORTC) of the Department of Home, CTA, in Bylakuppe held a training on Agriculture and Watershed Management for 12 agriculture based Tibetan Settlement Officers from 24 to 26 June 2024.
The training’s inaugural was graced by chief guests Ashraf Ul Hassan, the Executive Director of Myrada Kaveri Pradeshika Samsthe (MYKAPS), Mysore, and Chief Representative Officer (CRO) of South Zone, Jigme Tsultrim.
In his keynote address, CRO Jigme Tsultrim stressed the importance of organic and natural farming in addressing environmental issues caused by chemical toxins. He expressed optimism that this training would be a valuable learning experience for the settlement officers. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the government and people of India towards Tibetans in preserving the rich Tibetan tradition and culture before concluding his talk. Thereafter, Ashraf ul Hassan presented a brief introduction about MYKAPS to the participants.
The training session was conducted by Raghvendra Sudi, Consultant at Watershed Myrada; Shivasankar, Program Officer at Myrada Kolar Project; and Tenzin Thakpo.
