Paris: In commemoration of the 65th Tibetan National Uprising Day, the members of Tibetan community in France held a peaceful march, jointly organised by five Tibetan NGOs under the leadership of Tibetan association, from Trocadero to Paris-based Chinese Embassy on 10 March 2024.
Geneviève Garrigos advisor of Marie de Paris, and Deputy Mayor Jean-Luc Romero attended the commemoration, along with Tibetan Parliamentarian Thupten Gyatso and members of Tibet Support Groups.
The president of the Paris Tibetan Association, Karma Thinley, and Yangkyi introduced the significance of this day in Tibetan and French, respectively, during the gathering at Trocadero. Coordinator Thupten Tsering from the Bureau du Tibet read Kashag’s statement, and Tibetan Parliamentarian Thupten Gyatso read the statement of Tibetan Parliament in Exile at the commemoration, followed by addresses from the chief guests.
At the same time, a Tibetan National flag was raised at the mayor offices of Toulouse, Amiens, Bordeaux, Caen, Marzens, and Labastide-saint Georges.
