
Dharamshala: The Tibet Museum of the Department of Information and International Relations, CTA conducted a ten-day excursion in Delhi, Mumbai and Goa from 10 to 20 January 2024.
During this museum excursion to three different cities, staff members of the Tibet Museum visited eight different museums and three heritage sites. The main purpose of this tour was to build museum staff capacity in different museum fields concerning various ways of handling, administrating, exhibiting and so on.
The extensive museum tour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CMVS) in Mumbai was the highlight of this museum excursion. The staff members were given a detailed tour of the backside of the museum where the conservation lab, the archives office and the temperature control storage were located. Each curator and head of the department provided a detailed tour and the staff members were given comprehensive accounts of the functionalities and ways of management. Additionally, they were also given an account of the important role it plays in the museum.
