Mainpat: From 11 to 19 January 2024, Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu from the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration, visited the Phendeling Tibetan Settlement in Mainpat.

The primary purpose of the nine-day visit was to assess the land and housing facilities in the area according to the sixteenth Kashag’s directive. This directive aims to record people who wish to return their land and residences as part of Kashag’s resettlement strategy, which intends to provide land and housing facilities to recently arrived Tibetans from Tibet and those residing in cluster settlements.

During his visit, Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu also met with students of the Sambhota Tibetan School Mainpat.
