Nepal:  As per the appointment notice issued by Kashag dated 6 January 2024, Jawalakhel Tibetan Settlement Office held the handing over ceremony between new Settlement Officer Tsering Dolma and the outgoing Settlement Officer Lodoe Sangpo from 18-21 January 2024.

Karma Gyaltsen, secretary of the Tibetan Refugee Welfare Office, as a representative of the Department of Home, CTA administered the handing-over ceremony between the outgoing and the incoming Settlement Officer.

Over the course of four days, the official documents and stationery were handed over, and the new director visited the homes, school, old people’s home, staff quarters, health clinic, and creche under the jurisdiction of the handicraft centre.

The ceremony was attended by the President and members of Local Tibetan Assembly, President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, head of the Handicraft Centre’s board of directors, chair of the local Tibetan Cooperative Society, and representatives of Tibetan school and NGOs based in Jawalakhel Tibetan settlement.

Both the outgoing and new Tibetan Settlement Officers addressed the gathering. The representatives of the community expressed their gratitude to the two of them.
