Kathmandu: Organised by the Gyal-Phak Settlement Office, a branch office under the settlement office was inaugurated on 31 July 2023 at Yangleshoe. Due to the distance and exorbitant travel expenses incurred by residents and monastics around Yangleshoe, a branch centre was established through the joint efforts of Representative Tsepri Lopan Tulku-led Office of Tibet, Nepal and the Gyal-Phak Settlement Office.
The inaugural ceremony was presided by chief guest Representative Tsepri Lopan Tulku and special guest Secretary Karma Gyaltsen of the Office of Tibet, Nepal. The official ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp by the chief guest, followed by the invocation prayers, following which the new office was inaugurated. After the chanting of prayers, the public offered ceremonial scarves to the portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Settlement Officer Karma Zoepa delivered the introductory address, followed by the chief guest, who expressed gratitude to the sponsors of the new office, Rekhe Samten and his family, and his nephew Urgyen Gurutsang. Similarly, special appreciation was acknowledged to Yangleshoe Dubthob monastery’s Jamyang Dhichen Institute for constantly supporting the Tibetan residents of Yangleshoe. Members of the Tibetan Freedom Movement and former members were also presented with mementoes.
