
Dharamshala: The Public Service Commission(PSC) of the Central Tibetan Administration(CTA) held the inaugural ceremony of “CTA Project Officer’s Training” at the Administrative Training & Welfare Society Centre this morning on 26 July 2023.
The inaugural ceremony was presided by chief guest Wangdue Tsering Pesur, the Election Commissioner cum Chairman of PSC who highlighted the interdependence of existence, especially as Tibetan refugees, and shared his advice on the approach to interdependence. He said the training was arranged based on the needs of the CTA Offices and most important of all, the initiatives undertaken should benefit the Tibetan community and the exiled Tibetan administration. “The success of any initiative depends on a number of things, but those directly involved in it play the most important role. The concerned staff should have an overall knowledge of the needs of the community and the department, in addition to giving proper introduction to the heads of the departments about them and furthermore, the human resource or capital that is required. The aim of the PSC with this training is to further the effectiveness of the initiatives that are directly concerned with the project section of the offices at the settlements and centre,” he said.
Deputy Secretary Karma Thinlay of PSC introduced the topics of the three-day training and the trainers.
Six instructors had been invited to lead the training: Kelsey Lewis (NDI), Palden Phuntsok (NDI), Santosh Kumar(NDI), Lobsang Tenzin (SARD), Jigmey Thinley (SARD), Tashi Wangdue (SARD), and Jugney (SARD).
A total of 28 participants from departments and major settlements in the south attended the training.
The three-day training being held from 26-28 July is funded by USAID and NDI.
