Kullu: The incessant rain in the past several days has caused major problems of flash floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh, particularly in the areas of Kullu Manali.
The Tibetan residents of Dobhi, 15 Mile and Yulokoe in Kullu were heavily affected by the onslaught of monsoon and flooding. The Department of Home on hearing the report held an urgent meeting with the settlement office of Palrabling. The Department dispatched immediate relief support of INR 5 lakhs to help abate the distress.
The Central Tibetan Administration is coordinating with the settlement office of Kullu to review the ongoing situation. No casualty is reported from the flash flood hit the Tibetan settlement, however, damages to houses were reported.
As the flashflood began receding, the settlement office is carrying out a sanitisation drive to prevent the increasing risk of transmission of water- and vector-borne diseases.
