Hunsur: The 10th intensive Tibetan language and Buddhist philosophy course for Tibetan college graduates was inaugurated at Gyudmey monastery in Rabgayling Tibetan settlement, Hunsur on 1July 2023. The six-month course is a joint initiative of the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Religion and Culture, and Gyudmey monastery.
The chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the six-month course was Migyur Dorjee, member of Tibetan Parliament. Other guests include chant master Geshe Ngawang Sangay of Gyudmey monastery, Settlement Officer Tenzing Dhadon of Rabgayling, the principal of the Snowland school of Gyumed monastery, and head of the culture section at the Department of Religion and Culture.
A total of 16 students from 11 different settlements are taking part in this six-month course.
The objective of the course is to acquaint Tibetan youth with Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, the five major treatises and Tibetan grammar, prose, and poetry.
The six-month course will conclude on 31 December 2023.
