
Bengaluru: The delegation of the southern Chief Representative Office comprising office secretary Tenzin Tsepel and security liaison officer Kunga Yeshi paid a courtesy call on B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, Minister of Housing, Wakf, & Minority Welfare Department of Karnataka on Tuesday at the latter’s office. The delegation was also joined by representatives of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe and Dzongkar Choede Monastery in Hunsur.
The Tibetan representatives congratulated the latter for the new government and his post and presented the minister with a Buddha Statue to mark his prosperous and successful term. During the meeting, the duo discussed Tibetan issues regarding minority grants, especially the present issue faced by Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and Dzongkar Choede Monastery. The Minister assured his utmost support to resolve the problems faced by both monasteries.
The Tibetan delegation also attended a meeting to discuss India’s law of the Commission that called for public opinion for the introduction of a uniform civil code in India. The meeting was attended by Shri. Abdul Azeem, Chairman, Karnataka State Minorities Commission.
