Ladakh: Officiating CRO of Ladakh, Sonam Chodon, paid a courtesy call on Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Member of Parliament-Lok Sabha today to extend him greetings on behalf of CTA and Tibetan people in Ladakh. During the meeting, the CRO submitted compiled concerns raised by Tibetans during the parliamentarian’s visit to Sonamling in May.

CRO Chodon next called upon Advocate Tashi Gyalson, Chief Executive Councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council. The two discussed the grievance of Sonamling Tibetan Settlement raised during a special meeting held by the settlement’s Local Tibetan Assembly on 12th May.

Officiating CRO thanked them for the subsidies rendered toward Tibetans in Sonamling including providing 96 Solar Street lights and an internal blacktop road at camps 8 & 9. She also extended gratitude to Advocate Tashi Gyalson and Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Executive Councillor of the Rural; Development Department for renovating houses of the destitute Tibetan families at the settlement.   

During the discussion, CRO also requested them to implement Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014 in Ladakh and also raised issues of STP at Agling, Sarai for Jangthang nomadic family and internal black top road for all the camps.
