Dharamshala: The Department of Education’s Scholarship Section and the Counselling Section, jointly organised a virtual awareness session for school-based counsellors, on the recently announced new scholarship scheme to be implemented from 2023 onwards.

16 counsellors from Tibetan Children’s Village, Sambhota Tibetan School Society and Tibetan Homes Foundation, along with staff of the Department of Education, actively partook in the morning half-day session.

The session aimed to introduce the new amendments to the Department of Education’s scholarship rules to school-based counsellors as they are required to disseminate scholarship-related information to students. The session covered in detail, the categories of scholarships and the selection procedures for merit awards.

More such awareness sessions will be organised in the future as needed.

The virtual session was facilitated by Sonam Sangmo, Head of the Scholarship Section and Jamyang Wangyal, Counsellor of the Counselling Section, Department of Education.
