Panchgani: The Public Service Commission initiated the “Heart of Effective Leadership” training program for CTA staff at the Initiatives of Change at Panchgani in Maharashtra. A total number of 24 staff from various departments and settlement offices, local justice commission and audit branch offices are taking part in the training which is held from 19 through 24 December 2022.
The inaugural ceremony began at 9 am in the Australia hall of the centre, with lamp lighting by participants representing the four regions they are coming from along with Leena Kathri, one of the pioneer members of the institute. The lamps were lighted expressing their individual wish and collectively praying for the fulfilment of the wish followed by a candle song.
The Program director of the centre, Anup, welcomed the participants and briefed them about the training programs. To mark the first CTA training at the Initiatives of Change, Secretary of Public Service Commission, Tsering Yangkey offered a traditional white scarf and souvenirs of a wall hanging highlighting the four principal commitment of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a book on Boddhisatva’s way of life. She then spoke about why and how this training is organised. She encouraged the participants to develop a leadership culture based on moral integrity and a strong sense of responsibility towards the Tibet cause. She said that they are the CTA leaders in the making and that they must carry forward the Tibetan cause with unwavering determination. She also asked the participants to share their learnings with their colleagues when they get back to their respective work place.
The only Tibetan working at the Centre, Wangyal, spoke about the long association of the centre with the Tibetan community and his personal journey to the institute. This was followed by an inspirational talk by Siddharth, Director of the institute. He also narrated his personal story and how he was inspired to take up the responsibility to carry forward the core message and movement to bring change in human motives and behaviour to make the world a better place to live.
Some of the training topics are soul nurture, convenience vs. conviction, me to we, power of pause, power of vision, collaboration and competition.
