Delhi: After riding for more than 19,000 km and covering almost all the States of India from Himachal Pradesh to Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, “Ride for Pride” bike campaign for Tibet by Tsering Yeshi finally concluded in Delhi on 16th February, 2022. A brief concluding program was held at Tibetan Youth Hostel, Rohini, Delhi coordinated by India Tibet Coordination Office. The program was attended by Tibet Support Groups (TSGs) members including Shri Pankaj Goyal, General Secretary, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM); Shri Anil Monga, President, BTSM Delhi; Shri Radhe Shyam, BTSM Executive Member; Shri Abhishek Jain, President, Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch – Delhi, Shri Jigmey Tsultrim, Coordinator, ITCO Delhi and staffs; and the Students of Tibetan Youth Hostel.
Coordinator Jigmey Tsultrim welcomed all the TSGs Members and Students of the hostel attending the program. He introduced about the campaign carried out by Tsering Yeshi since 22nd March, 2021 starting from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh riding across all over India creating awareness on Tibet to the gathering.
Tsering Yeshi was later felicitated and honoured by the Tibet Support Groups Members and President of Student Council, Tibetan Youth Hostel with the presentation of a souvenir book “Hands Off Tibet, Communist China”.
Shri Pankaj Goyal lauded the efforts of Tsering Yeshi for carrying out the campaign for Tibet on his own as he said that it is the duty of every Tibetans to work for the cause of Tibet and further shared that he being an Indian will keep fighting for Tibet until Tibet is free from the evil hands of Communist China as he firmly believes that Tibet’s freedom is India’s security.
Shri Abhishek Jain was glad to met Tsering Yeshi as he mentioned that someone can occupy your land but if the spirit for your country is alive inside you as Tsering Yeshi has shown through his work, it is not far when you can get your land back. He urged the students to keep the spirit for Tibet alive and keep fighting for one’s land.
Tsering Yeshi in his address shared about the purpose behind the bike ride campaign and the whole experience of his campaign journey. He said that he carried out the campaign for two reasons. First, to offer his gratitude to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama under whose guidance and blessing, we all Tibetans have been striving since last 60 years in exile and have been working tirelessly for Tibet and Tibetans. Second, awakening every Tibetans to work for the Tibetan cause as it isn’t the duty only of Tibetan administration and Tibetan NGOs to always carry out activities and campaign for Tibet but duty of every individual Tibetans in their personal capacity to work for Tibet.
Yeshi was happy to share that he was warmly received and welcomed wherever he had visited during the course of his campaign by Tibetans and Indians alike. He offered his thanks to all the Indian Tibet Support Groups Members, Tibetan Settlement Offices, Tibetan NGOs, Students Associations and all other individuals for their help and support in successful completion of his campaign.
Tsering Yeshi told the students that he had chose to conclude his campaign in Tibetan Youth Hostel as he believes that students are the future of a country and interacting with them will ignite more future consequences as students being young and energetic, and nowadays more smart also. He urged them to participate actively in any activities and programs being carrying out on Tibet as they can contribute more to the cause of Tibet. He asked them to connect more with their Indian friends in colleges and tell the story of Tibet creating awareness among general Indian youths.
Coordinator Jigmey Tsultrim presented the vote of thanks to all for attending the program and especially the students for attentively listening to the speakers. He also offered his thanks to the Tibetan Youth Hostel administration for making the possible arrangement to host the program.
The program concluded with the singing of Tibetan and Indian national anthem in high spirit.
