Sonamling Tibetan Settlement, Leh: Central Tibetan Administration has dedicated 2020-21 as the “Year of gratitude” to express deep gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The Kashag has directed Tibetans across the globe to initiate and take part in activities in their capacities to create awareness about the life and four commitments of His Holiness.
Accordingly, on 15 July, Chief Representative Office, Sonamling Tibetan Settlement, Ladakh has hosted a quiz competition on the Life History of His Holiness the Dalai Lama between 12 Leh Camps. The quiz was aimed to create awareness among younger generation Tibetans on the life history of His Holiness and his untiring efforts towards Tibet and Tibetans.
In the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic and section 144 being imposed by the administration of UT Ladakh, the quiz competition was attended by a small audience. However, it was later premiered through Nyamdrel local Cable to the public.
In order to create awareness on the four commitments of His Holiness, CRO has posted banners related to His Holiness’s first commitment, “Oneness of Humanity” at Main City Road. CRO plans to post banners on His Holiness’s other three commitments in the following months.
CRO has also planned to host Geshes and experts’ talk on the second Wednesday of every month to create awareness on His Holiness Four Commitments and how one can contribute towards His Holiness’ commitments.
The 12 Camps of Leh have also initiated hoisting of prayer flags on the first Wednesday of every month for one year towards the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
