
Dharamshala: On 3 July, the auspicious day of Lhakar, Tibetan settlement office inaugurated the new Wet Waste Truck model no. EICHER Pro 1080 XPT to provide the town of Upper Dharamshala with the service of collecting the wet waste on a daily basis and hence containing the waste issues of the town. This project was possible with the financial aid by H.H. The Dalai Lama Charitable Trust. Department of Health, (CTA) has also assisted and supported this project.
The new wet waste truck was inaugurated by the Secretary of Department of Health, Palden Dhondup. The inauguration took place near the T building in CTA compound with the presence of Tibetan Settlement Officer Mr. Kunga Tsering, Deputy Secretary of Dept. of Health Kunsang and the environmental coordinator of Tibetan Settlement Office Ngawang Sonam.
With the newly inaugurated wet waste truck, Tibetan Settlement officer hopes to be able to tackle the waste problems in the town and therefore serve the community in Mcleod Ganj more effectively.
