
Moscow, Russia: On 5 June 2019, A Round table discussion was held at the Department of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia. The discussion topic was “Social Emotional & Ethical Education, New experience and its Perspectives.”
Last April the Global launch for Social, Emotional & Ethical (SEE) Learning was held in New Delhi in the presence of the H.H. the Dalai Lama which was organized by Dalai Lama Trust, Emory University and Vana Foundation which brought together over a thousand participants consisting of Educators, philosophers, thinkers, school teachers and specialist in the field of Education.
The SEE Learning Global launch was held April 4th to 6th with participants from around the world For many years the Center for Contemplative Science & Compassion based Ethics of Emory University has been working hard to compile a curriculum based on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s vision for “Educating the Heart and Mind” to be implemented into the mainstream education system around the world.
Attending SEE Learning Global Launch from Russia Dr Ruben Apressyan, Department of Ethics of the Russian Academy of Science, Prof Victoria Lysenko, Dep. Of Oriental Studies, Institute of Eastern Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, Anna Kostikova, Dep. Of Philosophy, Chair of Foreign philosophy & History at Moscow State University. Maria Falikman, Dep. Of psychology and Margarita Kazhevnikova, Leading fellow federal research state institution of education management of Russian Academy of Education, St Petersburg branch, came together once again to present their views on the SEE learning curriculum and to share their experiences and discuss its perspective in the Future in Russian Federation. The round table discussion brought together a large number of audience who was eager to learn more about the SEE Learning Curriculum and its perspectives. Each delegate gave a presentation which was followed by question from the audience.
As of today, the companion book has been translated into Russian and the remaining curriculum books are being translated and will be completed later this year. Honorary representative, Telo Tulku Rinpoche gave a presentation of H.H. the Dalai Lama’s four main commitments and a detailed presentation on H.H. the Dalai Lama’s vision and the importance of implementing this program in a secular way without touching its base on any religious tradition.
