Poanta: The Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the 9th Poanta Local Tibetan Assembly were sworn in at a brief ceremony held on 13 April 2019.

The Tibetan Local Justice Commissioner for the northern region, Lhadruk administered the oath to newly-elected Chairman Kunchok Tsering, Vice Chairman Tamding Tsedup and 10 members of the 9th Poanta Local Tibetan Assembly.

The Local Justice Commissioner Lhadruk also addressed members of the Poanta Tibetan settlement on the ‘Responsibility, Power and Jurisdiction of Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission and of all the three pillars of Tibetan democratic administration’ – in accordance with the Charter for Tibetans in exile.

He also answered the questions raised by the public.
