
Dharamshala: A three-day workshop on satellite image analysis was held at the Tibet Policy Institute from 12-14 February.
The workshop is led by Col. Vinayak Bhat (retd.), who is an independent researcher and commentator. He is a retired Indian army officer, an alumnus of NDA, Pune and a satellite imagery analyst for more than two decades.
Researchers of the Tibet Policy Institute and a staff from the Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration participated in the workshop.
It is aimed at introducing to researchers about various tools available for satellite image analysis and his analysis of key images he had studied over the decades.
Col Bhat gave a presentation on Tracking China’s Gulags in Tibet on the final day of the workshop, which was attended by staff of the Central Tibetan Administration, researchers and a contingent from Tibetan media.
