9th Local Tibetan Assembly of Kamlimpong Tibetan Settlement Sworn in

Dharamshala: The 9th Local Tibetan Assembly of Kalimpong was sworn in on 3 June 2025 as per the directive from the Tibetan Election Commission. 

Under the provisions of Article 69 of the Charter of Tibetans in Exile, Dawa Dorjee, Principal of Sambhota Tibetan School in Kalimpong, was appointed as the temporary Local Justice Commissioner by Chief Justice Commissioner Yeshi Wangmo.

Among 11 elected members, 9 members took their oath of office from the President of the Local Tibetan Assembly, Tsering Tsomo and Thekchog Tenzin were elected as President and Vice President, respectively.
