Dharamshala: The members of the 8th Local Tibetan Assembly of Phuntsokling Tibetan Settlement in Dalhousie were sworn in by the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner of the Northern region, Choekyi, on 28 August 2024.

Out of the 11 new members, 9 sworn in during the oath-taking ceremony in person and among them, Phurbu Dadul and Samdhup Choegyal were elected as the Local Tibetan Assembly’s President and Vice President, respectively.

Coinciding with the swearing-in ceremony, the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner held a legal awareness campaign later that day for around 40 Tibetan residents of the settlement. It was also joined by the new members of Local Tibetan Assembly, along with office secretary of the Phuntsokling settlement office, and members of the local election commission.
