Bengaluru: On the 28th February, the 16th Tibetan College Students’ Conference was held at The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, Bangalore in the gracious presence of Chief Guest Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University, Professor Dr. Jayakara S.M and Registrar of Bangalore University, Shri. N Mahesh Babu along with Chief Representative Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim, South Zone and other dignitaries.
The honourable Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Jayakara S.M gave a speech regarding the introduction on the transformation especially in higher education, and five pillars of the National Education Policy which are accessibility, equity, quality, accountability, and sustainability. He also emphasised the importance of young Tibetans preserving their culture and expressed his sincere appreciation for the invitation.
It was with great pleasure and honour that the Chief Representative Officer, South Zone Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim inaugurated the book composition of essay regarding the “Four Principle Commitment of the H.H the 14th Dalai Lama” and CRO gave a short speech on the Tibetan Exile’s Educational History from 1959 till now, and emphasized the importance of education in one’s present and future. He also expressed his deep appreciation for the Indian Government as well as State government in support of young Tibetans preserving our own culture and language.
The event organiser concluded the opening ceremony by offering a token of gratitude with Thangka of Lord Buddha to the honourable Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The conference will conclude on 5th March, 2023.
