Dharamshala: 135 students of TCV Suja between the age group of 15 -18 years received the first dose of Covaxin as India began the vaccination drive for children.
Parent’s consent was sought before giving the vaccination. One Doctor and six nurses from the nearby government PHC visited the school and carried out the vaccination program. They were assisted by the school head nurse Mrs. Karma Dolma and Mrs Tsering Dolma.
Currently, Covaxin is the only Covid-19 vaccine to be approved from India’s drug regulator for vaccination among 15 to 18-years-old children.
Vaccination drive for the aforementioned age group is being conducted across the Tibetan settlements and so far, children of the eligible age group in Mundgod, Kollegal, Bylakuppe, Hunsur, Odisha, Dholanji, Ladakh, Tsopema, Bhandhara, Mainpat, Miao, and Tenzingang Tibetan Settlements have successfully participated in the drive.
