
Dharamshala, 20 November 2025: The newly elected members of the 12th Local Tibetan Assembly of Dharamshala were sworn in on 21 November 2025 during a brief swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony took place in the conference hall of Tibetan Settlement Office under the supervision of Local Tibetan Election Commissioner cum Tibetan Settlement Officer Konchok Migmar.
A total of 21 individuals attended the ceremony, including the new elected members, four staff members of the Tibetan Settlement Office, Tibetan Women’s Association President Tsering Dolma and General Secretary Tenzin Nyima, Tibetan Youth Congress President Rigzin Dhondup, National Democratic Party of Tibet President Gendhun Choephel, and regional Chushi Gangdruk Representative Phurbu Tsering.
The event began with an introduction of the oath-taking ceremony’s programme by Settlement Office staff Namgyal Dhondup. This was followed by an address from the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner of the Northern Region, Choekyi, who introduced herself and briefed the attendees on relevant articles of the Charter of Tibetans-in-Exile and the election rules and regulations pertaining to Local Tibetan Assembly.
Subsequently, 11 out of the 15 elected members of the 12th Local Tibetan Assembly were sworn in virtually. The oath was administered by Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner Choekyi. Among them, Dawa Tsering was elected as President and Lobsang Tsering as Vice President.
