
Sonamling, Ladakh: The 11th Local Tibetan Assembly of Leh-Jang at Sonamling Tibetan settlement in Ladakh was sworn in on 30 October following the election of 21 new members including its chair Dhondup Tsering and vice-chair Lobsang Nyendak.
Pema Sangpo, the Local Justice Commissioner of Ladakh administered the oath of the newly elected members.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, the Local Justice Commissioner addressed the gathering on the importance of the Local Tibetan Assembly members and their roles in introducing/amending laws concerning undertakings of the Tibetan Settlement Offices. He also implored the newly elected LTA members to abide by the principles of the oath during the term and apprised them about objective of amending laws.
