Shimla: As per the direction from the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the year 2020 will be observed as the “Gratitude Year for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama” by Tibetans around the world.
As such the Chief Representative Office of Shimla has marked its first-ever program for the gratitude year on 11th September 2020 on the occasion of the Honorable Governor’s successful completion of one year at his Office.
Under the initiative of the Gratitude Year Committee of Shimla, Tibetans living in Shimla have observed its second program on 17th October 2020 which marks the 13th anniversary of the historic bestowal of the US Congressional Gold Medal, the highest Civilian Honour to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.
On this occasion, Tibetans living at different scattered locations of Shimla including two monasteries and an old age home have congregated at their own locations to hold a two hours long prayer session (Shabrim).
