Tibetan Scholarship Program Alumni Association Launches Website

Dharamshala: Tibetan Scholarship Program Alumni Association‘s
website was launched by the Kalon Thupten Lungrig on Friday morning, 9
April in Dharamsala. The US-based Tibet Fund supported the launch of
this website. Around 20 former Fulbright scholars were present at the
event.Mrs. Donkar Wangmo, President of Tibetan Scholarship
Program Alumni Association in her opening remark said, “ The website
aims to maintain the Association’s contact with all the alumnus and to
keep the Tibetan community well-informed about their works”.Kalon
Thupten Lungrig lauded all those Tibetan scholars who are extending
their service and contribution to the Tibetan community. The
United States Fulbright Tibetan Scholarship first began in 1988. Out of
364 number of alumni 125 are presently serving Tibetan community in
exile, 140 alumni have served the community but couldn’t continue their
service because of various reason, said Mrs. Donkar.The Tibetan Scholarship Program Alumni Association was first formed in 1999.
