Taipei, October 4, 2025: The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) has embarked on a cultural tour across Taiwan at the joint invitation of the Taiwan Ministry of Culture, the Office of Tibet Taiwan, and the Taiwanese Buddhist Centre. The tour, running from 27 September to 15 October, aims to showcase Tibet’s vibrant and unique cultural heritage to Taiwanese audiences.
Led by the Director Dhondup Tsering, an 18-member delegation, including the Artistic Director, instructors, musicians, and performers, departed from Dharamshala on 25 of September and arrived in Taiwan on 27 of September. The group received a warm reception at the airport from representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Office of Tibet, and the Taiwan Tibetan Association.
From 27 September to 7 October, the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan, organised performances and accommodations. Tipa held rehearsals to fine-tune sound, lighting, and stage arrangements ahead of their scheduled performances.
On 30 September, TIPA performed its first major performance at the Taiwan Traditional Theatre Centre in Taipei.

The evening concluded with ceremonial scarf exchanges as a token of friendship and cultural solidarity.
TIPA performed again to a full house on 1 October, marking its first Taiwan tour since 2018. The event drew widespread media attention, highlighting Tibet’s cultural richness and reinforcing ties between the Taiwanese and Tibetan communities. On 4 October, the touring schedule includes Hualien County and on 6 October, in Chiayi City.
