Dharamshala: The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) hosted a special cultural evening on 24 April 2026 to welcome members of the Lodrik Association who had come to offer long-life prayers to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The event, held at 6:00 PM in TIPA’s auditorium, featured a vibrant showcase of traditional Tibetan songs and performances, presented as a gesture of gratitude and remembrance.
Approximately 300 attendees participated in the program, including the chairman, executive members, former military personnel, and members of the general public from the organising association. The performances were met with an enthusiastic response, with the audience expressing their appreciation through applause and praise. In recognition of the artists’ efforts, the organising association presented ceremonial scarves (khatas) and tokens of appreciation, while several attendees also made voluntary donations in support of TIPA’s cultural initiatives.
The occasion held particular significance as the visiting group had come to offer long-life prayers for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Many elderly participants in attendance were individuals who had dedicated their lives to the service of the Tibetan people, religion, and governance. Acknowledging their lifelong contributions, TIPA organised the cultural program as a tribute aligned with this year’s commemorative observances honoring His Holiness, expressing admiration, respect, and heartfelt gratitude through the medium of performing arts without the official performance fees.
