
Paris: On 21 December 2025, the Tibetan Community in France commemorated the 36th anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s Nobel Peace Prize at a gathering in Paris attended by around 800 Tibetans from across France.
The chief guests included Thupten Gyatso, Member of the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile, and Representative Rigzin Choedon Genkhang from the Office of Tibet, Brussels. The programme was also attended by Coordinator Thupten Tsering, President of the Tibetan Community in France Pema Rinchen, representatives of various non-governmental organisations, and staff members.
The programme began with welcome remarks by the President of the Tibetan Community in France. This was followed by an address by the chief guest, who highlighted the significance of the occasion. Representative Rigzin Choedon Genkhang briefed the gathering on the importance of fulfilling His Holiness’ noble wishes and implored the community to actively participate in the upcoming elections for Sikyong and the Tibetan Parliament in Exile. She also underscored the role of parents in nurturing future generations of responsible and qualified Tibetans.
Coordinator Thupten Tsering then read out the Kashag’s statement for the occasion and shared other important official announcements. Nyima Dorjee, Vice President of the Tibetan Community in France, delivered the vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with cultural performances, including songs presented by weekend schools and various organisations.
