
Dharamshala: Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner Yeshi Wangmo concluded her official visits to the Tibetan settlements of Bylakuppe and Hunsur after attending religious events at Drepung Lachi Monastery in Mundgod on 24 December 2025.
On 25 December, the Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner made official visits to monasteries in the Rabgayling Tibetan Settlement, Hunsur. Upon arrival, she was formally received by Rabgayling Tibetan Settlement Officer Norbu Tsering. During the visit, she paid obeisance at Gyumed Monastery, Dzongkar Choede Monastery, and Ugyenling Monastery, where she was accorded warm receptions by monastery treasurers and local dignitaries.
Later that noon, she arrived in Bylakuppe to a warm welcome extended by Tibetan Settlement Officers, staff of the Tibetan Local Justice Commission (Southern Region), representatives from local monasteries, NGOs, and settlement camps.
The Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner then conducted a comprehensive tour of the Tibetan Local Justice Commission’s premises, including the hearing hall, offices, and staff quarters. In the hearing hall, Tibetan Local Justice Commissioner Phuntsok Palden presented the Commission’s report covering the period from 1 January to 30 November 2025. After reviewing the documents and office management, the Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner provided guidance and instructions to the Commissioner and staff before retiring for the day.
On the morning of the following day, an internal meeting was held at the Tibetan Local Justice Commission. The meeting was attended by the Tibetan Local Justice Commissioner, Tibetan Settlement Officers from Dekyi Larso and Lugsung Samdupling settlements, the head of the Southern Branch of the CTA’s Office of the Auditor General, Tibetan Laws and Customs Counsellors, and Commission staff. During the meeting, she delivered an address on the Tibetan exile judicial system and responded to questions raised by the attendees.
The Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner continued her programme with visits to Sera Mey Thosum Norling Monastery, Sera Je Khe Nyen Monastery, Thegchog Namdrol Ling Monastery, Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the settlement-based residence of His Holiness, Drikung Kagyu Monastery, Karma Kagyu Nalanda Monastery, Camp 2-based Thegchen Ling Monastery, Sakya Tsechen Chokhorling Monastery, and Drukkar Drubgyu Thosam Dargyeling Monastery.
In honour of the Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner’s visit, a dinner reception was jointly hosted that evening by the Tibetan Local Justice Commission, along with the Tibetan Settlement Offices and cooperatives of both settlements.
On the morning of 27 December, the Tibetan Chief Justice Commissioner departed for Bengaluru Airport and, en route to Delhi, returned to Dharamshala on 28 December 2025.
