The 32nd Anniversary of the Conferment of Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was commemorated all around the world on 10th Dec. 2021. Likewise, Tibet Support Groups in India also commemorated the day with pomp and gaiety, and at the same time, organised activities and programs to highlight the issue of Tibet to the general public as the day is also observed as International Human Rights Day.
In Ahmedabad, Gujarat; India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS) in coordination with Tibetan Sweater Market Association organized a program at the Riverfront Tibetan Sweater Market on the occasion. Shri Kiritbhai Parmar, Mayor, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Shri Hemant Bhatt MJ Library Member attended the program as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. ITFS Ahmedabad Executives Dr. Mahendra Sanghpal who is also the Regional Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India and Dr. Amit Jyotikar with other Tibet Supporters and Tibetan Sweater Sellers were present during the program.
In Jodhpur, Rajasthan; ITFS with Tibetan Sweater Market Association commemorated the day with a program which was presided over by Smt. Resham Bala, ITFS Jodhpur District President, while the Chairman of the Tibetan Sweater Market Association, Ms. Kalsang, thanked the people of Jodhpur for the support and cooperation for the Tibetan refugee.
In Hazaribagh, Jharkhand; ITFS led by Shri Sudesh Kumar, Regional Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India organized a program in which hundreds of intellectuals and Tibet Supporters participated. Dr. Bansidhar Rukhaiyar, Registrar, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh was the Chief Guest during the program.
In Muzaffarpur, Bihar; ITFS organized a seminar titled “Human Rights and Tibet” on the occasion at M. P. S. Science College led by Shri Surendra Kumar, National Co-Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India.
In Mysore, Karnataka; ITFS Member Shri J. P. Urs, Regional Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India together with Mysore Tibetan Students Association and Tibet Supporters commemorated the day.
In Bhandara, Maharashtra; ITFS commemorated the day in the presence of prominent local dignitaries, Tibet Supporters and Tibetan Sweater Sellers. Shri Amrut Bansod, President, ITFS Nagpur presided over the program and the members prayed for the long life and good health of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the success of Tibbat Mukti Sadhana soon.
Shri Sandesh Meshram, Regional Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India and a member of ITFS Nagpur kicked off a cycle rally titled “Janjagaran Cycle Yatra (South India)” with the message of “Free Tibet, Save India” from Mundgod Tibetan Settlement, Karnataka. on the auspicious occasion. The cycle yatra will pass through the Southern States of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry covering a distance of 2400 km approx and will conclude at Bengaluru, Karnataka on 12th January 2022.
In Delhi, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) organized “Human Rights Bike Rally” on the occasion to highlight the human rights violation in Tibet and to free Tibet from the evil grasp of Communist China. Hon’ble MP Shri Dushyant Gautam flagged off the rally from Sadev Atal Sthal which concluded at Majnukatilla Tibetan Colony and the members joined the program there commemorating the 32nd Anniversary of the Conferment of Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. In the evening, BTSM organized a webinar on an international level with the participation of speakers from several countries.
In Bomdila and Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh; Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch with locals celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at Bomdila District Headquarter and Tawang Monastery respectively.
In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh; Antarrashtriya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti (ABTSS) commemorated the day with a painting competition on His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Kankarkheda in which 12 schools participated. ABTSS Executives Shri Ravi Bakshi who is also Regional Convener of Core group for Tibetan Cause – India, Shri Mukesh Gupta, Shri Ashish Aggarwal, and Shri Sheel Vardhan successfully managed the program in a very well-planned manner.
In Salugara, West Bengal; the Himalayan Committee for Action on Tibet (HIMCAT) commemorated the day at Kalachakra Phodrang with Ven. Lama Chosphel Zotpa, President, HIMCAT and Shri Sonam Lhundup Lama, General Secretary, HIMCAT in attendance with the participation of school children and staff of Himalayan Buddhist Cultural School.
In Gangtok, Sikkim; Shri Pema Wangda Bhutia, Regional Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India attended the 32nd Anniversary of the Conferment of Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama organised by Tibetan Settlement Office. The program was attended by many dignitaries from the Government of Sikkim.
Indian Tibet Support Groups in Bangalore, Karnataka including BTSM and ITFS Members participated at the flagged off program of bike rally from Bangalore to Delhi organised by Tibetan Youth Congress on the occasion to give the message of “Boycott Beijing Olympics 2022 ′′
Likewise, Tibet Support Groups in Parbhani, Maharashtra and many other places in India commemorated the 32nd Anniversary of the Conferment of Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama together with International Human Rights Day.
