Dharamshala: The 8th Young Tibetan Research Scholars’ Conference organised by the Tibet Policy Institute (TPI) convened today in Dharamshala.
The three-day conference will discuss and deliberate some of the key focal areas of research on Tibet including but not limited to Tibetan Buddhism, historical narratives, environment, Tibetan medicines etc.
A total of some 47 participants from across the world including keynote speakers, Postgraduates and PhD scholars have converged to present their written works align to their choice of subjects.
Chief Guest Ju Tenkyong, Director of Amnye Machen Institute inaugurated the conference and attendees were Secretary Karma Choeying, Principal of CHTS Sarah, Deputy Director of TPI, Researcher and Joint Secretary Tenzin Dedan.
The Director of Amnye Machen Institute highlighted the requisite for modern trends in research methods and techniques while keeping in mind some of the traditional mechanisms. He emphasised upholding a prejudice-free discussion throughout.
