Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh: The India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) continued its Tibet Awareness Talk Series at Buddha P.G. College, Kushinagar, in collaboration with Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch – Tibet Support Group. Around 100 students from the B.A., M.A., B.Sc., M.Sc., and B.Ed. programmes participated in the Tibet Awareness Session.
Dignitaries on the dais included Principal Prof. Vinod Mohan Mishra; Dr. Nigam Maurya, Head of the B.Ed. Department; Dr. Paras Nath; Shri Suresh Gupta ji, Retired Lecturer and Assistant Professor in the Science Department; and Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sonakar, Head of the Physical Education Department.
Prior to the Awareness Session, an article competition on Tibet was organised by Dr. Nigam Maurya, in which around 77 students voluntarily took part. This competition helped gather a motivated audience for the Tibet Awareness Session and instilled a sense of prior understanding among the participants.
The programme began with a lamp-lighting ceremony by the dignitaries. Dr. Nigam Maurya then introduced the purpose of the Tibet Awareness Session. This was followed by Shri Shublal Sah’s briefing on ITCO’s outreach efforts in academic institutions.
Coordinator Tashi Dekyi from the India Tibet Coordination Office delivered a powerful presentation highlighting the critical situation in Tibet, which captured the attention of every student. Their deep engagement during her presentation encouraged ITCO to continue the Tibet Awareness Series with the same commitment.
An impactful speech by Principal Prof. Vinod Mohan Mishra followed, emphasising the importance of learning about Tibet and its deep cultural, linguistic, historical, religious, strategic, and political ties with India. “Such Tibet Awareness Talks should be organised on even larger platforms,” stated Principal Prof. Vinod Mohan Mishra.
Led by Dr. Nigam Maurya, Coordinator Tashi Dekyi awarded the top three students of the article competition on “Tibet” and also gifted books on Tibet to all participants. ITCO then felicitated the administration of Buddha P.G. College, Kushinagar, for supporting the program.
The event concluded with a photo session and meaningful one-on-one interactions with the students. ITCO moved on to continue its Tibet Awareness Talk Series with similar momentum and dedication.
