Dharamshala: The Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) initiated a three-day Middle Way Policy Awareness workshop for outgoing students of Sarah College on 11 December 2024.
The workshop, characterised by its engaging and participatory approach, features sessions delving into the nature and evolution of the Middle Way policy, examining the memorandum, and discussing the legal status of Tibet.
Participants actively engaged in analysing the nature, evolution and achievements of the Middle Way Policy, along with a memorandum, the historical status of Tibet and the current situation inside Tibet, while reading and discussing various articles and books related to these topics. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed for in-depth exploration and the exchange of perspectives. The training is being conducted by Tenzin Palmo and Rinchen from the Department of Information and International Relations.
Twenty-nine students participated in this comprehensive workshop, which aims to provide a nuanced understanding of the Middle Way Policy, the official policy of the Central Tibetan Administration, which seeks to resolve the Sino-Tibet conflict through peaceful negotiation.
The workshop is set to conclude on 13 December, offering participants a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the intricacies of Tibet’s political situation and the Middle Way policy.
This program was made possible by the generous support of the American people through USAID via NDI and SARD.
