Dharamshala: Addressing the weekly Covid briefing, Taskforce committee member Tenzin Dolma recounted zero Covid cases and vacant quarantine centres in the Tibetan community of India and Nepal despite 370 tests in the last seven days.
Updating the Covid vaccination numbers, Tenzin presented 50,253 fully vaccinated and 267 partly inoculated Tibetans above 18 in India. At the same time, 2,483 young Tibetans below 18 in India received both jabs. As of Nepal, 7,029 Tibetans above 18 and 109 below it received the twain vaccination. In addition, 7,184 in India and 662 in Nepal got immune booster shots.
Thus far, 9153 Tibetans in India and Nepal were reportedly infected by the Covid-19, from which 8,985 recuperated and 168 succumbed.
Following the committee member Tenzin’s briefing on the department’s Health Data and Research Program, Dr Ugyen Gyatso of Delek hospital briefly apprised the audience of Covid situations around the globe, urging persistent application of precautionary measures. He further directed Tibetans between 18 – 60 to obtain booster shots mentioning the availability of a third dose for Tibetans in Dharamshala at Delek Hospital.
