Dharamshala: The Department of Religion and Culture, CTA concluded its two-week Summer Cultural Immersion program today which was held from 4 to 17 June, 2024 at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies (CHTS), Sarah. This Program was designed for those Tibetan children enrolling in Indian schools to deepen their understanding and knowledge on Tibetan culture and make them closer to the larger Tibetan community.
Seventeen Tibetan students from seven different places participated in the program. During the closing function, Joint Secretary Tenzin Dolker from the Department of Religion and Culture awarded certificates to the students and Passang Tsering, the principal of the CHTS then delivered the closing remarks.
Over the course of two weeks, the students engaged in a variety of activities. They learned about Tibetan history, language, foundational Buddhist philosophies and SEE learning education.
As part of the program, students visited Dharamshala-based Tibetan cultural institutions, monasteries, and Central Tibetan Administration to gain first hand exposure to Tibetan cultural practices, tradition and issues concerning Tibet.
