Dharamshala: Speaker of the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, extends Losar greetings to Tibetans inside and outside of Tibet, as well as Tibet supporter and friends on the occasion of traditional Tibetan New Year, Losar 2153, the year of the Fire Horse.
Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel’s message for Losar:
“By offering my sincere devotion in thought, word, and deed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama—the upholder of world peace and the spiritual leader of Tibet—I extend my heartfelt greetings at the beginning of the Fire Horse Year to all Tibetans, both inside and outside of Tibet, as well as to all those who have supported our struggle to preserve Tibet’s unique cultural heritage and advance the Tibet cause.
I also take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported and assisted the efforts of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan Parliament in Exile in advancing the Tibetan struggle over the past year.
In this New Year, it is of utmost importance for all of us—among Tibetan communities inside Tibet, in exile, and across the world—to dedicate our efforts to preserving and promoting our religious, cultural, and linguistic heritage, thereby strengthening our ongoing struggle.
From a religious perspective, maintaining a positive intention in all that we do is pivotal. Similarly, in our political and religious endeavours, we must act with altruism and goodwill, fostering consensus and collective effort to advance our common cause. I therefore earnestly urge everyone to uphold this principle.
Despite his advancing age, His Holiness the Dalai Lama continues to grant audiences to hundreds of Tibetans, well-wishers, and devotees daily, guiding and inspiring many. We should repeatedly recall His Holiness’ noble aspirations and strive to put them into practice in return. To ensure His Holiness’ longevity, we should engage in ayuh-sadhana, conduct religious services, and release captive animals as part of our religious practice. From a worldly perspective, it is equally important to make sincere efforts, at every scale, to realise the noble aspirations of His Holiness.
Finally, I pray for the longevity and fulfillment of the noble endeavours of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and all reverent high lamas and upholders of Buddha’s teachings. I also offer my prayers for a swift resolution of the Tibet-China conflict.
Tashi Delek! May all your wishes be fulfilled, and may happiness prevail.”
