Seminar on Himalayan Security and Environment Begins in Arunachal Pradesh
Dharamsala, 18 February 2005: Tibet support group, North East region, holds the first
ever seminar on Himalayan Security and Environment today in Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh. The seminar will be convened
by Shri. R.K. Khrmey (Convener, Northeast Region-II).
Security in the Himalayan region and its strategic implications and the ecological importance of Tibet in affecting
the Himalayan security and environment are some of the issues in focus.
The seminar will be attended by Dr. N.K. Trikha, National Convenor, Core Group for Tibetan Cause, Dr. K.C.
Agnihotri, National Co-convener, Dr. Sudesh Garg, Convener Northern Region, Advocate J.P. Sharma, Convener, Delhi
Region, Shri. Surender Kumar, Convener, Eastern Region, Shri. Sonam Lhundup, Convener Northeast Region-I, Shri.
Arvind Nikose, Convener, Western Central and Mr. Choekyong Wangchuk, Coordinator, ITCO (India-Tibet Coordination
Office).
All members of the Core Group will have an informal gathering after the seminar and discuss past events and also
chalk out an action plan for the Core Group.
