Dehradun: Secretary Palden Dhondup of the Department of Home, CTA, made a courtesy visit to former Chief Secretary of Uttarkhand Government, Shri Subhash Kumar, on 30 December during his official visitation to Dehradun regions.
During the meeting, Secretary Palden Dhondup appreciated Uttarkhand’s former Chief Secretary for providing facilities to the Tibetan residents while appealing for continuous support. In response, Shri Subhash Kumar ensured his assistance in reducing the repayable amount of 64 Lakhs loaned from the State government for construction activities of Gepheling, a new housing facility for Tibetans near Dekyiling Tibetan settlement. Similarly, Settlement Officer Dhondup Gyalpo beseeched the former Chief Secretary to aid the construction of roads in Tibetan settlements as per the provisions of Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014.
Additionally, as part of his assessment tour of the region, Home Secretary visited and inspected the ongoing project sites of Paonta Cholsum and Puruwala Tibetan Settlement on 28 December.
On a subsequent day, Home Secretary discussed issues associated with settlements in Dehradun with TSO Dhondup Gyalpo, followed by a meeting with Nilay Ratna Kukreti, a legal advisor to CTA, to deliberate testing land and building a tarred road.
Ngodup Woeser, Deputy Secretary of the Home Department, accompanied Secretary Palden Dhondup during the entire visitation.
