The official handing and taking-over ceremony between the outgoing Acting Secretary Dekyi Dolker and the new Secretary Jampa Phuntsok.

Dharamshala: Secretary Jampa Phuntsok officially took charge as the new Secretary of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, earlier today from Additional Secretary Dekyi Dolker, who served as acting Secretary during the absence of the Secretary at the department.

As the official witness, Secretary Jigme Namgyal of the Department of Education oversaw the exchange of official documents between the outgoing and new Secretary of the Department of Health. 

During a short, official meeting in the afternoon, Mr. Jampa Phuntsok, the department’s new secretary, presented his first speech to all of the staff. In his address, he highlighted the importance of teamwork, which allows one to endure and complete tasks with greater impact while resonating with how the department confronted COVID-19 obstacles. In addition, he encouraged the employees to put their best effort into any task, regardless of the outcome, and concluded by stressing the importance of upholding interpersonal relationships.

Brief Bio:

Secretary Jampa Phuntsok was born on 18 March 1979 in Kollegal Settlement to Dhondup Choephel and Tsamchoe.

On 14 November 2007, he joined the Central Tibetan Administration as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Home and became a permanent staff on 2 June 2008.

Over the course of his services at the Central Tibetan Administration, Secretary Jampa Phuntsok has taken charge as the Settlement Officer of Rabgayling Tibetan Settlement, Dickyi-Larsoe Tibetan Settlement, and Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement. 

Subsequently, he was transferred to the Home Department and then to the Health Department in 2016. At the Department of Health, he was promoted to Additional Secretary on 4 May 2019. Before being appointed as the Secretary of the Health Department, he served at the Department of Home in between.
