
Geneva: On 22 April, a courtesy meeting was held in Geneva between Representative Thinlay Chukki and UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal from the Tibet Bureau Geneva with Hon. Nicolas Walder, State Councillor of the Department of the Territory of the Canton of Geneva.
During the meeting, Representative Thinlay Chukki conveyed her congratulations to Hon. Nicolas Walder on his election as State Councillor, expressing appreciation for his assumption of responsibilities within the Geneva Cantonal Government and wishing him success in his mandate.
Hon. Nicolas Walder is widely recognised for his steadfast commitment to human rights advocacy. During his tenure as a member of the Swiss National Council (Federal Parliament), he was actively engaged in parliamentary initiatives and cross-party groups promoting human rights and international solidarity, including sustained attention to the situation in Tibet. His parliamentary contributions and public positions have consistently reflected a profound commitment to democratic principles, human dignity, and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
