Taipei: Accompanied by the Secretary and the Administrative Assistants of the Office of Tibet (OoT) Taiwan, Representative Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa paid a visit to Taiwanese legislator Freddy Lim, the Chair of the Taiwanese Parliamentary Group for Tibet, and Ying Chun Liu, a colleague of the group’s Vice Chair Hung Sun Han, on 10 January 2023.
During the interaction, Representative Kelsang Gyaltsen presented schemes for future campaigns and other activities, to which the Chair of the Taiwanese Parliamentary Group for Tibet assured his collaboration. He further tabled Tibetans’ Visa Related Issues for consideration while updating the Taiwanese parliamentarian about strengthening relations between Tibetan and Taiwan.
Representative made a similar appeal for a visa permit to Yiong Conzin, the minister of the Hakka Affairs Council, three days earlier. Yiong Conzin, a staunch supporter of Tibet, made a visit to OoT on 7 January to convey his greeting for the new year.
On the afternoon of 7 January, Representative Bawa presided over the meeting, partook by members of the non-governmental Taiwanese Tibet support group and president and the standing committee members of the Tibetan association in Taiwan. The two-hour-long meeting discussed programmes for the upcoming Tibetan Uprising Day and Tibetan lunar new year. The tasks were assigned among the participants of the meeting that was also attended by Tsering Dolma, a Chinese news anchor at Tibet TV.
