
Ravangla Tibetan Settlement Collaborates with Forest Department on Sikkim’s 50th Statehood Day in Mass Tree Plantation Drive
Ravangla: On the auspicious occasion of the 50th statehood day of Sikkim, Ravangla Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement – in close collaboration with the south division of forest department, Sikkim – successfully carried out a tree plantation drive, cultivating a total of 972 saplings within the settlement premises on 29 May 2025.
This initiative was the result of joint planning and sustained effort over the past several days. Teams from both the Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement and the south division forest department worked together to prepare the land, identify suitable areas for plantation, and ensure logistical coordination for a smooth execution of the event.
This mass tree plantation drive marks not only a celebration of Sikkim statehood but also a shared commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable community development. The event saw active participation from local residents, forest officials and volunteers, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and unity as well as a testament to what can be achieved through community-government partnerships.
