
Delhi: The Public Service Commission organised a three day Etiquettes and Communication Skills Training program for the front desk staff of the CTA departments and offices at the headquarter and major Tibetan Settlement offices in South India, at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) New Delhi from 26-28 August 2024.
A total of 19 participants, consisting of 11 females and 8 males, participated in the training.
The Inaugural program began with the welcome address and briefing on the training topics by Prof. Surabhi Pandey. Shri Amitabh Ranjan, the Registrar of IIPA, talked about historic relationship between India and Tibet and importance of timely communication.
The Secretary of Public Service Commission, Tsering Yangkey, began her address with her greetings to the dignitaries on the dais and audience on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami and prayed that all gathered be blessed with the wisdom and power of Lord Krishna. She highlighted the importance of communication in today’s interconnected world and its impact on personal and professional relationships. “Good communication at workplace ensures employees’ efficiency and promotes a positive work environment”, emphasised Secretary Yangkey while adding that the training program is designed to equip and enhance communication skills, boost confidence, and refine the way of connecting with each other.
The director general of IIPA Shri S. N. Tripathi spoke about the significance and purpose of communication with special reference to empathetic communication.
The training agendas are active and assertive listening, verbal and non verbal communication, email writing and written communication, etiquettes and presentation skills, conflict management and negotiation skills, emotional intelligence and self awareness, Johari window, tools for interpersonal skills.
The Inaugural session concluded with the exchange of souvenirs between the IIPA and PSC.
