Dharamshala: The Public Service Commission held an inaugural ceremony for the 6-day-long Tibetan language training workshop for CTA civil servants (under secretary to joint secretary) at College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah on 8 January 2024.
The ceremony was presided over by the Public Service Commissioner Wangdu Tsering Pesur, accompanied by Secretary Tsering Yangkey, Principal Passang Tsering from Sarah College, Secretary Tenzin Minlay and instructors from the college. A total of 16 participants took part in this training.
Principal Passang Tsering in his welcome address, shared the overview of the college, introduced the instructors, and briefed about the topics included in the training session among other things.
Public Service Commissioner Wangdu Tsering Pesur addressed the gathering about the objective of this workshop which is to strengthen the foundations of Tibetan language for the civil servants. He stressed that, “Preservation of Tibetan language depends on collective efforts”. Furthermore, he urged the participants to make note of where they are going wrong and fix it as well as use the resource materials from the well-stocked library at the campus during the course of the workshop. In conclusion, he wished the participants success in their endeavours.
Tenzin Minlay, the office secretary of Sarah College, delivered a vote of thanks before concluding the inaugural ceremony.
